The Series: 4, 11, 18 & 25 August
Over four Tuesday mornings this August, Teacher Yvonne guides a special introductory series for those new to Ashtanga—or returning to it with fresh eyes. Built as a progression, each week gently deepens your familiarity with the practice, so that by the end of the series the sequence begins to feel like your own.
In a world that often moves faster than we can keep up, Ashtanga offers an opportunity to return to a steady rhythm—one breath, one movement at a time.
This 75-minute practice follows a traditional sequence of postures woven together with the breath, creating space to listen, observe, and reconnect with yourself. Through consistent practice, the body gradually becomes stronger and more stable, while also finding greater ease, mobility, and freedom of movement. Strength and softness, effort and surrender, steadiness and flow are all invited into the practice.
Each time we return to the sequence, it is both familiar and new. Some days we feel light, other days challenged, and both become part of the practice. Over time, Ashtanga gently cultivates resilience, patience, and a quiet clarity that can accompany us beyond the mat.
Whether you are beginning your journey or returning to an old friend, this series offers a space to breathe deeply, move mindfully, and settle into a healthy rhythm of body and mind.
This series is designed to be experienced as a whole, but each class stands on its own.
